Join us at the Durham Art Gallery for our 2025 Creative Skill Sharing Workshop Series.

This is a hands on HOW TO Tie Flies for fishing workshop that will familiarize participants with the hooks, tools, materials, concepts, and actual tying of patterns within the 3 hour course.

INSTRUCTOR/FACILITATOR: Jack Serre is an army veteran, a senior, and an author, publishing the W5 Of Fly Fishing in 2019, and recently completing the research to pen the follow up book, the W5 Of Fly Tying. The 5 W’s are defined by, WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY to explain and personalize the inclusive activities’ fly fishing and tying flies are. The DAG has seen what an art form this is, and he is thrilled to participate. Jack has taught his introductory to fly fishing, BUGSLINGER 101 and Casting Tech for 8 years locally on the Saugeen watershed system.

The Durham Art Gallery respectfully acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabek: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations; the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation; and the Six Nations of the Grand River, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples.
