CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

GREY AREAS

A curated contemporary landscape exhibition at the Durham Art Gallery

Junior Curator Paige Bowen

Durham Art Gallery’s Grey Areas winter exhibition is a curated, visual discourse between 3 - 4 artists, whose work guides the viewer to reexamine landscape. We are looking for work that is exploratory, expressive, and that alters how we look at the landscape. We invite artists to expand definitions of ‘landscape’, considering the interconnection between rural and urban spaces. From paint to sculpture, to video, all creative media is welcome.

Eligibility

Grey Areas references  Grey-Bruce Counties in rural Ontario. Local artists or artists with a connection to the region are encouraged to apply.

Durham Art Gallery is committed to equity, accessibility, inclusion, and community; those values will be carried over into the curatorial process of this exhibition.

Grey Areas will take place from November 29th until January 18th, artwork must be available for the duration of the exhibition including additional time before and after for install and de-install purposes.
