Join us at the Durham Art Gallery for our 2025 Creative Skill Sharing Workshop Series.

It's so satisfying to step outside and harvest fresh flowers for your home, and you can't get more local than your very own yard!

If you've been wanting to grow cut flowers for your personal use and have a few questions or are unsure of how to begin, this workshop is for you!

Starting with a discussion of ideal location for your flower patch, soil preparation and flower selection, we will move on to the hands on portion of the workshop to start seeds and take cuttings for you to take home. We will finish up with details on planting and caring for your plant babies, when and how to harvest your flowers and end of season garden care.

Included:

  • Cuttings for a jump start on your flower patch

  • Tray of 10 flower varieties started from seed

  • Grow dome and plant labels

  • Growing details for the flowers you've started from seed

  • Information packed handout

INSTRUCTOR: Annabel Por has 5 years of growing cut flowers commercially under her belt as well as over 15 years as a professional gardener. "I love passing on my knowledge and sharing a passion for growing flowers, so that you too can enjoy working with mother nature to grow your own cut flowers."
